This winter season, let’s celebrate water. Let’s make space for the elemental powerhouse that churns, carves, and energizes the symbiotic interminglers among us. After all, we are about 65% composed of the stuff, and the Puget Sound in particular produces vortex energy punctuated by the land mass sentinels interspersed throughout it. We live in an area with over 2500 miles of shoreline between the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Olympia. We are fortunate that our maritime habitat allows us a full season of cleansing and renewal. Here are 3 island rides that embody island riding in the PNW, but with tasty twists that are imbued with adventure and discovery. As standalone rides, they are each distinct and curate a selection of cuts and peculiar throughways. Feel free to join on the day of, or save the routes for when the world is an oyster.
