Details

Two meetup locations. Meet at Miro Tea at 10am OR at Ballard PCC at 10:30am

On Sunday join the Pedaling Relief Project and Food Not Bombs Emerald City for a fun ride to rescue food for a food bank in Downtown Seattle!

On Sundays in the late morning we will be riding to the Ballard PCC to rescue donated food and other supplies. From there we will be delivering this rescued food to the Food Not Bombs Emerald City pop-up food bank in SODO.

Ride details

Two optional meetup locations - Meet us at either

Miro Tea in old town Ballard (map) at 10am - roll over to the Ballard PCC at 10:30am

OR

Ballard PCC in Ballard (map) at 10:30am

As riders arrive we'll hook up bike trailers and hand out food safe gloves.

10:45am - Everyone loads their bikes up with donated food.

A Food Not Bombs Emerald City organizer will be at the PCC in order to help coordinate with the store and load bikes.

The food will be loosely packed into stacked red bins by PCC in the loading bay. We repack the donated food in the red bins onto our bikes. The red bins will stay at PCC. There will also be a number of banana boxes full of produce for riders to take.

11am - Start ride down to the pop-up food bank in SODO. We’ll ride as a group and regroup a few times on the ride down (see RWGPS route)

11:45am - Noon - Arrive at the pop-up food bank in SODO to drop off the donated food!

After the ride - If the weather is nice enough we'll get beers, coffee, or donuts after the ride!

After the ride any trailers that were borrowed will need to be dropped back off at the University District Food Bank. If you are not able to travel back to the University District Food Bank to drop off your trailer please let the ride leaders know.
