Notifications Guide
Everyday Rides sends a small number of emails and Discord messages, each with its own control. This guide covers what goes out, when, and where to turn each one on or off.
Weekly digests
- Weekly Events Digest — sent Sundays at 5pm with upcoming events in your city for the week ahead.
- Weekend Events Digest — sent Fridays at 10am with rides and events happening that weekend.
Both digests are controlled from your notification settings.
Group notifications
Each group membership has its own notification preferences:
- Events — get an email when a group you're in publishes a new event, or turn it off.
- Posts — get an email for new posts, for new posts and their comments, or turn it off.
You can change these per group from the group's settings page, or see them all in one place in your notification settings.
Events you've RSVP'd to
If an event you've RSVP'd to is updated or cancelled, you'll be notified. Each event page also has a subscription toggle that controls whether you get notified about new comments on that event.
Discord notifications
If you've linked your Discord account, you can get direct messages for rides you've RSVP'd to:
- Event reminders — a DM before events you're going to
- Event updates — a DM when an event changes or is cancelled
- Event comments — off, only from hosts, or all comments
Manage these from your notification settings or with /er-settings in Discord. Events also post to connected Discord channels the moment they're published — see the Discord page for how the integration works.
Product updates
Occasionally, Everyday Rides sends email about new features and site news. This is opt-in and controlled from your notification settings.
