DID YOU KNOW that located just out of view on everyone's favorite Seattle-adjacent island loop exists a comprehensive network of multi-use trails? Like many things on Mercer Island, Pioneer Park is nicely 'scaped, well-maintained, and provides access to expansive nature and expensive dogs.
Plan to circumnavigate the island, come across this excellent trail network, and fart around in the dirt for as long as we'd like before completing the rest of the loop.
Meet at Cafe Weekend in the CD at 9:30 and roll out at 10:00 (note, access to The Bikery next door will be available should anyone need air/tubes/patches/etc). Finish at Perihelion Brewery just off of the I-90 trail in Beacon Hill for delicious lunch and drinks.
The ride will be a casual-ish 20-25 miles; no drop but hey, life is short. A moderate 12-14mph pace will get us there in the time it takes for us to get there. Stops as necessary to regroup or check safety levels. Recommended minimum tire width of 33mm; the trails are friendly to all kinds of bikes so ride what ya got!
Come as strangers from the internet, leave as friends. Yield to horse people. Bring a snack!
