Come one, come all, fellow bicycle people (whatever that means). Mel and Zach co-present the third bike happy hour after a rousing success of the first two.
Weather is looking ok, but possibly drizzly, so let's meet under the train tracks south west of the Ballard Locks, underneath the bridge. Enjoy great conversation, sweeping views of the underside of the bridge, the pillars of the bridge, the grass, the puget sound, boats, enjoy a nice sunset, and have a jolly good time while imbibing your choice of beverage together.
Getting to the spot: From the road above the South entrance of Ballard Locks, head West toward Discovery Park. Underneath the train bridge a couple hundred feet from the locks there is a big grassy area and places to huddle underneath the train bridge if it's raining. I've never been there when it's raining, but it's a neat, semi-private spot and I think it'll provide some cover. There's also beach access there but tide might be pretty high still.
Show up and leave whenever. BYOB.
There's a public restroom at the ballard locks a short distance away.
I love social rides, bike camping, wandering, and picnics! (I also made Everyday Rides!)
