Welcome to our second endurance ride, shorter than last time but hillier! Joe will be leading this one starting at the shop at 10:00am on Saturday. The shop will be open before and after the ride in case you have any last minute needs.
We'll be making our way to the Cottage Community Bakery in Perrinville via 6th, the Interurban, Woodway, Edmonds, and Olympic View; after hitting the bakery around mile 17.5, we'll snake through Lynnwood to a gradual, rolling descent back to the lake on Locust Way. We'll make a water/bathroom stop at Log Boom Park at mile 28.5 and then take the long way back to the shop via Waynita Way, downtown Kirkland, and 520!
The pacing will be the same as our last endurance ride, ~150 watts on a gravel bike. That should get us 16-18 mph on the flats, but there won't be a whole lot of flats before Log Boom, so expect a similarly reserved pace on the (mostly gentle, but steep in a couple spots) climbs. The route is all paved, but some of the surfaces toward the north end are downright bad, so wider tires wouldn't be a horrible idea.
Come ride bikes with us!
