Summer served its main course - long days, big miles, bigger visions. But the light’s changing angle now and the morning air has that first sweet bite of crisp. That’s not an ending. That’s an invitation.
The Tasty Lil Ride Series(TLRS) is a small, seasonal ride series built for exactly this window – shorter days sharper air, smaller plates. Less about the epic and more about the exactitude. Fewer miles, more intention. This is the desert menu for the cooling season. Ben Rainbow will be your server.
RIDE DETAILS
The first ride in the series is a jaunt out along seldom seen Kitsap County roads. We launch from Fauntleroy into bucolic Southworth and make our way through Kitsap quietude till we emerge into the quaint Gig Harbor.
We’ll link up with Regional Trail and then pop out onto the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. This breathtaking experience is best shared amongst inspired friends and will most certainly be unforgettable. Tacking through outer Tacoma and then through the Port of Tacoma as a group will connect us to the Milton Interurban for some miles that’ll whiz by.
Some in the group will opt in to the Federal Way light rail for a tidy sub-50 mile, while others dig in to the valley roads that take us into South Seattle reaching closer to 85mi.
This ride is primarily paved with a few short sections of lux gravel and/or broken pavement. Minimal tire width of 30mm, preferably 38mm. Bring lights for if the day goes long. This ride will have frequent re-groups with an average flat rolling speed of ~15-17mph.
*The route will be posted before the ride day *Heavy/Nasty rain cancels *Meet at Sound Break 8:30am *Roll 9am to catch 9:55am Fauntleroy Ferry
